Name: Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd Door: Left Canon: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Canon Point: Azure Moon; During Ch 17 before the Battle at Gronder Age: 22 Appearance: 01 - 02 History: Wiki Personality: - Diplomatic: Dimitri was born and raised nobility, the crown prince of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. As such, he was tutored on the basics, like politeness and manners, and tends to speak with a flowery flare even though he has a dislike for formalities and prefers not to be called 'your Highness'. He is empathetic and kind, even cheerful and outright earnestly helpful during his school years. When looking at issues, he does his best to consider different points of view. When he comes to power, he hopes to encourage greater equality regardless of race, lineage, faith or ideologies and plans to do so through reforms. - Determined: Although many people also call him stubborn, Dimitri's determination makes him a brilliant pupil and an excellent warrior. It also makes him a very loyal and dedicated friend. Innately driven, he tends to work tirelessly and never complains, often having to be reminded (or forced) to take a break by his friends. - Vengeful: Arguably Dimitri's most defining trait, his life has been shaped by tragedy and the deaths of those dear to him. This has set him on a path of vengeance that becomes increasingly intense and obsessive. He has both a need to get justice for the dead and to placate them, hearing their voices and even seeing them. On more than one occasion, he vents about how monsters, people who have done any manner of evil, should get what they deserve, including himself. He not only tends to dehumanize anyone he deems an enemy, even calling them vermin that need to be exterminated, but he also dehumanizes himself, seeing himself as nothing more than a vehicle for revenge with no concern for his own well-being or survival. In battle, he becomes unhinged, letting his blood lust rule his actions. He's overly violent and cruel, reveling in the destruction of life. - Guilt-ridden: Dimitri was a child when his family was slaughtered, he was there and saw it all. Despite the fact that there was nothing he could have done to prevent or help his loved ones, guilt eats away at him. This tendency to judge himself harshly extends further than the massacre and, even though he's royalty, he has a terrible opinion of himself. He doesn't think he's fit to rule or lead anyone, that he's not good enough and will only bring misfortune to those around him. He's allowed the tragedies in his life to shape and define him, taking them upon himself. He suffers from PTSD, resulting in ageusia or the inability to taste, and survivor's guilt which causes him to see and hear the dead, namely his father, step-mother, family friend and knight, Glenn, and his vassal and close friend, Dedue. Though he believes the ghosts of the dead are truly speaking to him, they are simply voicing his dark inner thoughts, berating him for not doing more. He believes they're unable to rest until he seeks vengeance for them. At present, he doesn't believe he can rule, he sees nothing redeemable in himself and can't see why any of his friends are still loyal to him. He is nothing more than a beast that is only capable of bringing death and suffering to the people around him. - Conflicted: Even during the relative happiness of his school years, Dimitri has always struggled with the two sides of his personality. It's a balancing act between his kindness and ideology and his obsessive search for vengeance through cruel violence. Neither ever completely disappear, during his school years he still has a lurking darkness in him and at his worst and most depraved there are still glimmers of kindness and empathy. His grasp on reality is tenuous however and his control of himself, his ability to remain rational and in control, is even more tenuous. His desire for revenge has been all-consuming for the past five years, maybe more, and he's shed all semblance of humanity to pursue it, living as a vagrant and killing any enemy he comes across. However, now that he's been reunited with his friends and former classmates, he's also starting to see and realize that his single-minded desire for revenge is actually the thing that's causing those around him to suffer, not just his friends and allies but the people of Faerghus, who are without a leader, as well. He's struggling but attempting to find a balance between his two halves, to accept but rein in his demons because attempting to pretend they're not there or ignore them completely didn't work at all and allowing them to run rampant and unchecked was even worse. Powers and Abilities: Trained in hand to hand and bladed combat including swords, axes and lances though he has a preference for using lances. Horseback, pegasus and wyvern riding though he prefers to fight on foot. He also possesses the Crest of Blaiddyd which increases his strength at random. This most often happens during combat but is one of the few Crests that tends triggers outside of combat as well, triggering while doing day to day tasks, much to Dimitri's dismay. Inventory: In addition to the clothing and armor he's wearing, he will be bringing his lance, a Hero's Relic called Areadbhar. Samples: TDM |
